Microsoft has prepared training material for staff at retail chain Best Buy that explains why the staff should try to sell a Windows-based PC over a Mac. Read the article for pictures of Microsoft’s slides.
Ars Technica, – the website I’ve linked to – is displeased, wondering “how Microsoft can get away with these types of “training materials”" but Microsoft is on target here:
The material says that customers are likely to be more familiar with Windows than a Mac, that they can run more software and games, and that a Windows PC will probably cost less than a Mac. It also says Windows PCs are available in more configurations and sizes than Macs.
Personally, the only piece of Apple hardware I’d buy is the iPod touch. And I did.
